Crop Circles Sneak By Railbirds, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Iowa Crop Circles and the Reading Railbirds, Chris Jouan was the difference-maker. The Iowa left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Jouan went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-2. David Hodge locked down his 22nd save.
Iowa needed the clutch hitting of Don McCormack to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crop Circles on top, 3-2. For the game, McCormack had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Jouan. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The Crop Circles go to 41-30, putting them second in the Frontier Northern.
