Falcons Stumble, Lose to Outlaws
|
Ozark turned a good effort from starter Haden Oliver into a win over the Newark Falcons at Incest Stadium. The Outlaws won the game, 8-1. The winner was Oliver. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Kunitaro Watanabe. Ozark improves to 46-25 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Floyd Hall didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Newark trailing 3-1, Hall retired Lorenzo Peña to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Hall, with a wink.
