Orlando Loses Marvin Cox, Will Miss Season
Wednesday, June 7th , 2073
The doctors have spoken and Marvin Cox of the Orlando Rum Runners didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Cox sustained his season-ending injury during the Amarillo Chicken Haulers game yesterday at Krono Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Orlando medical staff reported Cox had a damaged elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months.
For the season, Cox has made 10 relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 0-1 won-lost mark and a 5.06 ERA. In pitching 16 innings, he has totaled 16 strikeouts and 7 walks.
