Smart on Fire: 5-for-5 for West Island Monday, May 24th , 2077 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the West Island 's 12-8 win over Vermont, second baseman Tim Smart was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Welsh Field. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Smart said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Tim Smart hit a two-run home run off Jack Coles in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In his season totals, Smart has 6 home runs, .238 BA, .313 OBP, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has played in 43 games. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
