Player of the Week: Jackson of the Maulers Monday, May 25th , 2076 Minneapolis fans have something to crow about today as Minneapolis third baseman Alvin Jackson nabbed the Appalachian Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Jackson. He posted a .474 average (9-for-19) this past week with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. This season in 41 games, Jackson has hit at a .298 clip with 50 hits, 8 home runs, 32 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
