Magicians Acevedo Raps 3 Homers
Thursday, May 28th , 2076
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, José Acevedo can celebrate.
The Michigan Magicians first baseman powered three into the stands at Assembly Line Grounds against the West Island Storm.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Acevedo told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Magicians toppled West Island by a score of 9-6, knocking in 7 runs and scoring 4 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Michigan manager Henry Lehrer said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
José Acevedo singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Gallegos in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jerry Martínez in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Anthony Turner in the 8th.
Acevedo is hitting .246 for the season with 10 home runs, 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 171 at-bats and played in 46 games.
