Vega Sizzles with 25-Game Batting Streak Thursday, July 10th , 2064 Manuel Vega ran his hitting streak to 25 straight games today at William Penn Park, when he collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks dropped the game, 8-5, to the Reading Railbirds. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Vega said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Manuel Vega flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Vega is batting .374 with 13 home runs, 53 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 254 at-bats, 24 walks and a .428 OBP. Vega has played in 64 games. |
