Sanchez Raps Michigan for 5 Hits Friday, September 26th, 2042 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Jesus Sanchez of the Vermont Emperor Penguins had a sensational game against Michigan at Penguin Field. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark, but it didn't pay off in a victory. The Militia took the game 7-3. In the postgame press conference Sanchez joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me, and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off. Right, Skip?" His manager retorted half-smilingly, "Only if we win the game, son ... only if we win the ballgame. That's what they pay us to do, you know." Jesus Sanchez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Sanchez is hitting .292 with 19 home runs. |
