AP Presents Diamond Debut Award
Monday, November 1st, 2055
Francisco Muñóz's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Atlantic City Aces and today he walked away with the 2055 Appalachian Diamond Debut Award.
The 22-year-old starter registered a 17-5 record this season in 32 starts. Over 203.2 innings he gave up 162 hits, struck out 227 and issued 60 walks as he held the opposition to a .220 batting average and fashioned a 2.17 ERA.
Juan Luis Ibarra of the Atlantic City Aces finished second in voting, while Kieran Bell of the Minneapolis Maulers finished third.
