Kirk's Season Could be Over Monday, September 15th , 2070 The Minneapolis Maulers were dealt a severe blow when Melvin Kirk was hurt being hit by a pitch recently in a game against the Cape Canaveral Launch. After the game, the team trainer reported Kirk might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 30-year-old shortstop out for the rest of the season with a fractured ulna. They indicated it would take Kirk at least 5 weeks to heal. Presently Kirk is batting .317 with 32 hits and 1 home run. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 13 times. |
