September's Best Rookie Named by AP Wednesday, October 1st , 2070 Youngster Walt Browning emerged as the latest Appalachian Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Michigan deserved the honor, batting .407 with 4 home runs and 19 RBI. Is the month of September a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Browning enjoy the limelight. This season Browning has delivered 129 hits in 461 at-bats for a .280 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .327 clip and his totals also include 43 RBIs and 59 runs scored. This year Browning has played in 139 games. |
