Manny Flores joined an elite group of pitchers today by picking up the Pacific League AAA Diamond Heater Award for 2070.

The 31-year-old hurler finished the year 15-5 for the Norfolk Navigators, piling up 168.2 innings, registering 199 strikeouts and walking 67 on his way to a solid 1.87 ERA.

He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 28. Jimmy McQuartie of the Norfolk Navigators finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Don Hardie of the Flint Mound Raiders finished third.

2070 ATL AAA Diamond Heater Award Chosen

The Hill City Violators have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Truman Todd, this year's Atlantic League AAA Diamond Heater Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Todd compiled a 14-4 record in 24 starts, tallied 141 strikeouts in 169 innings and recorded a 1.97 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .223 batting average against him.

He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 28. Scott Jenkins of the San Quentin Outlaws finished second in voting with 10 first place votes, while Anthony Turner of the Hill City Violators finished third with 5 first place votes.
