Colo Springs -Columbus Brawl, Venegas and González Suspended

If there wasn't a history between Jim Venegas of Colo Springs and Juan González of Columbus , then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Venegas said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
So far this season, Venegas is batting .250 with 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 27 hits in 108 at-bats, 7 walks and a .336 OBP. Venegas has played in 30 games.
