Austin Keeps Hit Streak Alive

Eric Austin has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Bethlehem starting pitcher picked up 3 more today against the Norfolk Navigators and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Ironmen won the game, 5-4.
"Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being."
Eric Austin singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Colo Springs Announces Ramírez Will Retire
Thursday, April 25th , 2075
Gustavo Ramírez of the Sky Sox is hanging it up. The veteran reliever reportedly told team officials yesterday that he would not return for another season.
"The time has come for me to give up a game I love dearly, but the time is right. Baseball has been good for me and I hope I have been good for baseball."
"While we are disappointed Gustavo will not be playing for us next year, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and the way he went about this decision," said the Colo Springs general manager.
So far in his career, Ramírez has 51 saves with a 46-39 record and a 3.96 ERA.

Morales on Fire: 5-for-5 for Colo Springs

Colo Springs catcher Manuel Morales had a big day at Tarpons Ballpark against the Tequila Worms. The 24-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 6-5 Sky Sox triumph over Tequila .
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Morales said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Manuel Morales singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Hitting .367 to date, Morales has no home runs and 4 RBIs. He has played in 10 games.
