Shannon Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Friday, May 13th , 2072 Tommy Shannon ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Tarpons Ballpark, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Raleigh Red Terrors dropped the game, 5-1, to the Colo Springs Sky Sox. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Shannon said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Tommy Shannon struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. So far this season, Shannon is hitting .358 with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 29 hits in 81 at-bats and a .435 OBP. |
