Pacific League Selects Best Performer

22-year-old Joan Franco made a few Edmonton headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Pacific League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 9 hits in 16 at-bats to put up a .563 average. Franco collected 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 6 runs.
This year Franco is hitting .309, produced 37 RBIs and 9 home runs, scored 20 times and gotten on base at a .381 rate.
