Escobar Crashes 3 HR Against Campeche Monday, June 2nd , 2064 Today was a special one for Felipe Escobar of the Raleigh Red Terrors as he slammed three home runs in the 15-12 win over the Campeche Pirates. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Raleigh center fielder collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 7, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Waves Stadium. Felipe Escobar grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. Thus far this year Escobar is hitting .278 with 11 home runs, 34 RBIs and 21 runs scored. |
