Round 1 Goes the Distance, Mammouth Prevails Friday, September 5th , 2070 The Mammouth Might are heading to the Round 2, having narrowly defeated the San Quentin Outlaws. Mammouth edged San Quentin in the series 3-2, with a win at Underdogs Ballpark in the clinching game by a 5-4 margin. Bob Yates turned in a strong offensive performance for the Might and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Round 3 win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Yates continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .471 with a .591 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Mammouth Might will play against the Hill City Violators in the next round. Hill City won their series against the Dayton Diamonds 3 games to 0.
