New England 's Craft Suspended Wednesday, April 24th, 2058 The league commissioner's office has notified the New England Red Barons that shortstop John Craft has been given a 2-game suspension for his involvement in an incident with the home plate umpire in yesterday's New England -Raleigh game at Cincinnati Grounds. After being called out on a pitch that he deemed a ball, Craft aggressively expressed his displeasure and was promptly ejected from the game. In the league suspension notice, it stated that he was suspended for making an obscene gesture toward the umpires prior to entering the dugout. The league said that type of behavior would not be tolerated. Craft and the Red Barons were unavailable for comment. In the current season, Craft has put up a .196 batting average with 10 hits, no home runs, 8 RBI and scored 5 runs. |
