League Rules Ruíz Out 2 Games Saturday, April 17th , 2077 The league has issued a 2-game suspension to Barrels shortstop Luis Ruíz for his bad conduct yesterday at the Crab Apple Cove-Luray game at Surgeons Ballpark. Ruíz was tossed out of the game for heatedly questioning a third-strike call. Once the home plate umpire ejected him, Ruíz ran over to argue more, even though the umpire warned him specifically, "Don't you come over here." Ruíz then retreated to the dugout, where he threw several bats onto the field and followed with a toss of an athletic trainer's bag. Later, Ruíz ran out of the clubhouse tunnel to continue arguing -- a big no-no for a player who has already been thrown out. So far this season, Ruíz has recorded a .211 batting average with 4 hits, no home runs, 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored and a .348 OBP. |
