Gallina Sizzles -- Smokes Falcons for 5 Hits Monday, May 24th , 2077 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Georgs Gallina, it came around today. The 24-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Madison Heights Fields to pace the 10-7 Ft Levenworth Rock Crushers victory over the Flushing Falcons. Flushing skipper told reporters in the press room that "Gallina deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Gallina hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Georgs Gallina singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. In the current season, Gallina has put up a .418 batting average with 23 hits, no home runs, 16 RBI and scored 14 runs. View Boxscore |
