Onions Lose López for Season Thursday, May 24th , 2074 The doctors have spoken and Jorge López of the Chibougamou Onions didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. López sustained his season-ending injury during the Ottawa Lynx game yesterday at Severance Grounds. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Chibougamou medical staff reported López had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13-14 months. To date this year, in 9 starts, López has crafted a 2-4 mark with a 3.02 ERA. |
