Iida Bashes 3 HR for Chandler Monday, July 11th , 2067 Ienobu Iida showed off his power today as he launched three balls into the seats against the Modesto Goshawks and sparked the Beetles to a 27-8 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at Ballpark of Chandler." For the day, Iida collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats, scored 5 runs and had 11 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," Chandler skipper said. "Ienobu really put on a show." Ienobu Iida walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jon Buckley in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Chi-young Xú in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Winston Meade in the 8th. For the season Iida has hit .522 with 4 home runs and 15 RBIs. He has played in 10 games and scored 10 times. |
