Carrillo Sizzles -- Smokes Beetles for 5 Hits Wednesday, August 12th , 2071 Jesús Carrillo was at the head of a Rothschild Leaves hit parade today at Rothschild Grounds. The 18-year-old went to the plate 8 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Chandler Beetles that marched off with the 14-13 win. "We didn't have it today," griped Leaves skipper following the game. "Jesús did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching." Carrillo did more than fine, dominating the Beetles at the plate during his record-making 5-for-8 performance. "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging shortstop told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." Jesús Carrillo singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
