Haiti Beats Raleigh as Byrd Throws 4-0 Shutout
|
All went well for David Byrd of the Haiti Hoagies as he pitched his team to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Raleigh Red Terrors, limiting them to 6 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Byrd on the day.
"David's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Hoagies manager . "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Haiti right-hander rang up 1 and surrendered 1 walk.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Red Terrors manager . "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
To date this season Byrd is 5-10 with 18 starts and an ERA of 4.02 with 67 strikeouts in 123 innings.
