Outlaws Move on to Round 3
Tuesday, September 11th , 2074
Francisco Márquez said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Round 2 until he was shown his own statistics.
The San Quentin Outlaws left fielder put up a .300 average with 1 home runs, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Outlaws advancing to the Round 3, with a 4-1 series win over the Kingston Rasta.
"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."
The series victory had become official with a 4-2 triumph at Underdogs Ballpark. Even if Márquez is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.
"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.
The San Quentin Outlaws don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bethlehem Ironmen - Columbus Explorers series. Columbus leads the series 3 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
