The joy and relief on the faces of the Mason Victors players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 1 win over the Bakersfield Firewalkers.

"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Mason right fielder Domingo Trujillo, shortly after the 8-7 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."

The team is now off to the Round 2.

Trujillo won series MVP honors on the strength of his .438 batting average during the series. He also had a .609 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Mason Victors will play against the Mass Ave Minutemen in the next round. Mass Ave won their series against the Dollar Corner Buffalos 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
