Francisco Levario Injured, Out for Year

The doctors have spoken and Francisco Levario of the St. Augustine Crusade didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Levario sustained his season-ending injury during the Hoboken Hawks game yesterday at Ballpark of Toledo. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the St. Augustine medical staff reported Levario had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9-10 months.

Virgina Beach Stymied by Roberts

It was not a good day at the plate for the Virgina Beach Breeze. They came up empty when it mattered against Green Bay Huskies right-hander Erik Roberts, who scattered 4 hits across 9 innings and held the Breeze scoreless.
"We had 4 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Virgina Beach manager said later.
Roberts chalked up 9 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 9-0 Huskies win.

4-Game Suspensions for Ríos-Lloyd Fight

The league commissioner's office announced today that Harris Ríos of the Buccaneers and Tim Lloyd of the Waves have both been suspended for 4 games for fighting in the recent game between Wildwood and Bridgetown at Lobsters Ballpark.
Ríos is currently hitting at a .372 pace with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and has scored 9 times.
