Wednesday, September 6th , 2073
The joy and relief on the faces of the Minneapolis Mud Hens players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 2 win over the Sing Sing Songbirds.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Minneapolis right fielder Alberto MartÃnez, shortly after the 5-2 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Round 3.
MartÃnez won series MVP honors on the strength of his .296 batting average during the series. He also had a .345 on-base percentage and 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Minneapolis Mud Hens will play against the Granville Greyhounds in the next round. Granville won their series against the George Town Tourists 4 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
