It was a sweet sweep for the Hill City Violators as they eased past the Dayton Diamonds to advance to the Round 2.

Hill City won the final game by a 2-1 count and the series 3-0.

"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Andy Byrne, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Byrne hit .417 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Hill City Violators don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Mammouth Might - San Quentin Outlaws series. San Quentin leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
