Colón Rips St. Paul for 5 Hits
Tuesday, April 26th , 2072
The Coudersport Monkeys stopped the St. Paul Barons by a score of 12-8 at Widgets Ballpark, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Orlando Colón. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Colón said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Colón did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Barons.
"Not much that I can say," offered St. Paul manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Orlando Colón hit a two-run home run off Luis Ramírez in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, hit a two-run home run off Paul Nichols in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
Colón's current batting average stands at .358 and he has chalked up 5 home runs and 13 RBIs.
