Sargent Cracks 5 Hits Tuesday, April 30th , 2075 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Bill Sargent -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Tarpons Ballpark and paced the 22-8 Pirates win over the Colo Springs Sky Sox. After his dynamite batting performance, the Campeche center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Bill Sargent flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Sargent is batting .370 this season in 20 games with no home runs, 9 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 34 hits in 92 at-bats. View Boxscore |
