Monkeys End Austin Streak Wednesday, May 1st , 2075 It was the best of both worlds for the Coudersport Monkeys at Courageous Ballpark, as they defeated the Bethlehem Ironmen, 5-2, and also snapped Eric Austin's 22-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Bethlehem starting pitcher failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Austin, we just wanted to win the game," said Monkeys skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Austin frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." |
