Vega Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Saturday, August 23rd, 2059 The number just keeps getting higher. Ocean Beach shortstop Edward Vega has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 3 hits in 4 at-bats as the Ocean Beach took the 7-0 win over the Coudersport Monkeys at Coudersport Fields. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Coudersport manager said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Edward Vega singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a sac fly in the 9th. So far this season Vega is batting .339 with 12 home runs, 56 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He has 83 hits in 245 at-bats, 38 walks and a .421 OBP. Vega has played in 62 games. |
