Monday, July 24th , 2073
In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Ray Fletcher of Cabo San Lucas recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Atlantic League Player of the Week Award.
"I've been playing since I was a kid," Fletcher told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success."
Fletcher outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 home runs, and 8 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.
This season, Fletcher is hitting .317 with 60 hits, 2 home runs, 22 RBIs, scored 25 runs and played in 51 games.
