Johnstone Spins No-Hitter
Friday, July 22nd , 2067
The Haiti Hoagies relied on no-hit stuff from starter Chris Johnstone to defeat the Tequila Worms 1-0 at Roadrunners Ballpark today.
"It's quite a thrill," Johnstone told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the Pacific League records, he stopped Tequila cold and hitless, surrendering 4 walks and fanning 11 of the 29 batters he faced.
Haiti manager was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Johnstone "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
Johnstone has made 12 starts, tossed 73.1 innings, struck out 72 batters and walked 34. His record is 2-8 with a 3.80 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .254 batting average.
