Barker Holds Pirates Scoreless
Saturday, July 30th , 2072
All went well for Kevin Barker of the Raleigh Red Terrors as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 10-0, over the Campeche Pirates, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Barker on the day.
"Kevin's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Red Terrors manager . "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Raleigh left-hander rang up 6 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Pirates manager . "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
In 21 starts this season, Barker has chalked up a 5-10 record and a 4.11 ERA.
