Virginia Beats Trenton 5-4, Román Ks 15

Led by an outstanding performance from starter Pablo Román, the Virginia Sting topped the Trenton Talons today by a score of 5-4 at Pistols Ballpark. The 26-year-old Román brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 4 hits and giving up 3 walks.
"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Talons manager said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."
To date this season Román sports a 10-6 mark with a 4.03 ERA in 21 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .225 batting average and has 157 strikeouts in 120.2 innings.
