Escobar 5-for-6 for Raleigh
Sunday, July 6th , 2064
The Raleigh Red Terrors stopped the Columbus Explorers by a score of 19-5 at Waves Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Felipe Escobar. The 36-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Escobar said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Escobar did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Explorers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Columbus manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Felipe Escobar flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
This season Escobar is batting .291 with 52 RBIs, 42 runs scored and 16 home runs.
