Land and Rodríguez Suspended for Free-for-All Thursday, July 13th, 2062 After an intense confrontation, both the Worms Jim Land and the Surf Sergio Rodríguez were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Tequila -Ocean Beach game. Jim Land will miss 4 games, while Sergio Rodríguez was suspended for 2 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jim Land commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Presently Land is batting .245 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs. He has played in 19 games and scored 5 times. To date this year Rodríguez has saved 7 games while tossing 70 innings. He has a 3.47 ERA, fanned 68 batters and made 35 relief appearances. |
