Pacific League Announces #1 Player

So far in his young career, José Álvarez has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Pacific League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 24-year-old Edmonton Trappers right fielder hit at a torrid .520 clip as he collected 13 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
This season Álvarez has hit 13 home runs and posted a .286 batting average.
