Norfolk Starter Named PAC's Premier Pitcher Monday, September 1st , 2070 In August, when the name of Manny Flores appeared on the Norfolk lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 5 times and chalked up 5 wins and no losses. With those stats it was also a virtual lock that he would be named the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month. Flores shackled opposing batters on 14 base hits and a .115 batting average. He rang up 50 strikeouts in 38.1 innings of work, surrendered 21 walks and fashioned a sparkling 1.17 ERA. So far this year Flores has made 22 starts, tossed 168.2 innings, struck out 199 batters and walked 67.
