Red-Hot Branda Scorches Sting Friday, August 18th , 2073 A jubilant Travis Branda joined the postgame press conference at Steel Hounds Ballpark to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Virginia Sting pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Offshore Gamblers right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 15-2 Gamblers win. "He made it look easy," said , manager of the Sting. Travis Branda hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
