SS Pacheco Given 3-Game Suspension Wednesday, August 23rd , 2073 There was a hostile encounter between Jorge Pacheco and the men in blue in yesterday's Haiti -Coudersport game. The Hoagies shortstop was tossed for arguing a called third strike. Actually he did a little more than just complain about the call -- he got in the umpire's face and had to be restrained by his manager. "I don't think I did anything to deserve to be thrown out of the game in the first place, never mind be suspended," Pacheco stated. "That's unbelievable. I still don't know why he threw me out of the game. I didn't charge over there until after he gave me the heave-ho." The league office did not agree with his assessment of the confrontation and suspended Pacheco for 3 games. Posting a .225 batting average to date, Pacheco has 6 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
