Hawks, Glenn Buzz HellFire, 2-0
Monday, July 10th , 2073
Russell Glenn of the Hoboken Hawks was on top of his game.
The 27-year-old tantalized the Hell HellFire with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 2-0.
"He had the changeup working," Hell manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Hoboken hurler had 5 strikeouts, gave up 3 walks and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort.
Glenn told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."
"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
This season, Glenn has fashioned a 4-6 mark and 3.10 ERA in 124.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .282 against him and he has logged 101 strikeouts.
