Ding Booms 3 Homers Sunday, July 16th , 2073 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Jackrabbits-Breeze game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Sonoran shortstop Yi-lin Ding thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Sonoran to a win, 16-2, over Virgina Beach. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Ding said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Ding, who is tied for 7th in the ATL in stolen bases with 23, was 3-for-4 on the day with 6 RBI. Yi-lin Ding hit a solo-shot off Wayne Dixon in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Ding is currently batting .308 with 7 home runs, 51 runs scored and 48 RBIs. His OBP is .449. |
