Monday, July 24th , 2073
Saskatoon Legends catcher Manny Ríos had a magnificent game against the East St. Louis Eagles, rocketing three balls out of Naturals Ballpark to help the Legends win, 9-5.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Ríos went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Saskatoon manager said later. "Seems like Manny found his home run stroke today."
Manny Ríos hit a solo-shot off Miguel Cavazos in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Cavazos in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th.
This season, Ríos has delivered 47 hits in 177 at-bats for a .266 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .319 clip and his totals also include 20 RBIs and 18 runs scored. This year Ríos has played in 49 games.
