Roberts Crushes 3 Homers Against Virgina Beach Tuesday, July 26th , 2072 Tim Roberts was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 10-0 Summit County Soap Box Derby triumph at Nightriders Ballpark. The 26-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Soap Box Derby past the Virgina Beach Breeze. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Roberts told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The shortstop went 3-for-4, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Tim Roberts hit a solo-shot off Wayne Dixon in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th. To date Roberts has chalked up a .160 average with 8 home runs, driven in 17 runs and scored 11 times. |
