Round 3 Sweep to Tourists Wednesday, September 12th , 2074 The George Town Tourists rolled over the Sing Sing Songbirds 9-8 at Louisville Grounds to easily win the 2074 Round 3 crown. George Town won in a walk and swept the series from the Songbirds 4-0. It was their 2nd championship title. Winning manager praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Songbirds "a fine team." "It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the Round 3." The Tourists took second place in the Atlantic League Northern Division and rounded out the year with a 72-48 record. View Boxscore |
