Songbirds Move on to Round 2 Thursday, August 24th , 2073 The Sing Sing Songbirds have swept the Montreal Whiz and are on to the Round 2. Sing Sing won 2-1 today at Ladd Grounds to clinch the Round 1. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Sing Sing shortstop Alberto Castaneda, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Castaneda won the award with a .294 batting average and a .333 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Sing Sing Songbirds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Hell HellFire - Minneapolis Mud Hens series. Minneapolis leads the series 2 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
