Greyhounds Move on to Round 2
Saturday, August 26th , 2073
The Granville Greyhounds clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Sonoran Jackrabbits room was filled with despair and sadness after the Round 1 concluded.
"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Calvin Porter, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.
Granville won the final game by a 7-6 count at Spears Ballpark and the series 3-1.
Sonoran manager was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.
"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.
For the series, Porter hit .375 with a .450 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Granville Greyhounds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Jackson Hole Bucks - George Town Tourists series. George Town leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
