League Gets Last Word, Suspends Garrison 3 Games
Wednesday, August 11th , 2066
Chris Garrison, first baseman for the Sonoran Jackrabbits, will be getting a few days off the hard way -- a 3-game suspension for aggressively arguing with an umpire in a recent game with Saskatoon .
After being called out on strikes, Garrison stood toe-to-toe with the home plate umpire and hotly contested the call. Apparently he got too close to the arbiter and was ejected from the game, allegedly making contact with the bill of his cap.
"I don't remember billing him. I don't remember doing that," Garrison told BNN today.
This season Garrison is batting .198 with 79 hits, 19 home runs, 63 RBIs, 89 walks, .339 OBP and has scored 49 runs. He has played in 110 games.
